For over ten years, Resource Energy Solutions has been designing and developing software for the oil and gas industry. Initially, the objective was to streamline the workflow process and standardize the reporting system for in-field workers. This quickly evolved into developing a comprehensive database environment that monitored in-field costs on a daily basis and provided an extremely flexible reporting system. Wellman covers the operations of the complete asset life cycle, including all phases of operations and production from geology, surveying, construction, drilling, well completion, facility and pipeline, and workover, to abandonment and final reclamation. At the same time, the company developed another product designed to work with Wellman. Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) is capital tracking software that enables increased efficiency, control, and accountability by providing budgeting and internal controls over capital spending. The system is built on the RES.NET framework, using the Public Petroleum Data Model with an N-Tier architecture.
Resource Energy Solutions' Wellman ranked number 1 in a recent study done by the Ziff Energy Group. According to the Ziff study, which compared RES to competitors, RES provided the cleanest data, best drilling records, best operations processes, and most efficient time and costs.
From this success, Resource Energy Solutions introduced EMPACT and COMS for the mining industry. The EMPACT system tracks and reports in-field costs on a daily basis, whereas the integrated module COMS provides capital tracking and budgeting workflow and reports.
As an additional offering to its clients, Resource Energy Solutions offers ‘software as a service’ (SaaS). This allows clients to use Wellman, AFE Manager, and EMPACT + COMS, depending on their needs and budget.
